Not All Translation Agencies Are Created Equal
Don’t you just hate it when you come across a shopping site for the brand you like only to find out that it’s not in English? This is most likely not the first time that this has happened to you as certain niche markets and brands are rarely accessible for others outside the country of their origin. And even though some browsers, like Google chrome would have a translation feature—this is not foolproof or always accurate. As one of the few native English speakers working for a popular Japanese clothing brand, when the company decided to launch an English language online store for their overseas customers I was given the task of finding the appropriate translation agency for the job.
There was already an existing online store but completely written in Japanese, so no new content would be written. We just needed help in translating everything fluidly and accurately. Not only that, their translators also have different fields of expertise so that they have a better understanding of the requirements of your specific task depending on what the subject matter may be. I really liked that I was able to constantly check on the progress of the job through an online tracker and could communicate directly with the translator working on the task should he/she have any clarifications with some parts of the document or if I have additional instructions; I wouldn’t have to go through another person or send a lengthy email. The launch of the English site was a resounding success and it is thanks in large part due to the excellent translation services we received from Translia.
