My interest in music has always been variable – I never listened to a particular kind of music for long. I myself did not know what I looked for in music and why my tastes changed abruptly. A time came when I started listening to jazz. Jazz music failed to create an impression on me the first time. It was all haphazard noise of instruments and no lyrics to support it. I would never have listened to jazz again in my life had I not chanced upon Marie Jo Rudolph’s song samples. It was jazz all right but this was something different. One could coherently connect one sound to another. I sometimes got so lost while listening to MJR’s Toronto Live Background Jazz that I started to hum lyrics into it. These guys provided a healthy variety of music, my favorites being Toronto Live Background Music and Toronto Live Jazz. Surprisingly I have listened to jazz for quite a long time and I have no intentions to move to another musical type. I now find myself relaxed whenever I am listening to jazz. I have also played MJR records along with silent films screened at our university. Even my friends and colleagues were impressed with the kind of music being played. MJR’s music is really a masterpiece in itself and I recommend it for everybody.
